Return channel MTR test how-to

We will use WinMtr for return channel test.


Caution:

If you are using VPN, disconnect it first!

If you are using SlonAx, disconnect it first!


STEP 1: Start WinMtr

You'll see a program main window. Enter your VPN or SlonAx server address (according to the type of connection you are currently using) in the "Host" field.

SlonAx servers:

  • Sirius-4 B22 and Sirius-4 B32:
77.94.34.154 port 3444 
82.198.31.54 port 3444
85.195.133.4 port 3444 
  • EurasiaSat-1 and Yamal:
77.94.34.166 port 3444
77.94.34.167 port 3444

VPN servers:

  • Sirius-4 B32:
77.94.34.146 VPN-сервер 
77.94.34.147 OVPN-сервер
  • Sirius-4 B22:
77.94.34.148 VPN-сервер 
77.94.34.149 OVPN-сервер

  • EurasiaSat-1:

After clicking "Start" you will see a detailed traceroute to chosen host. Please stop this test when packet count in "Sent" coulumn reaches 100.

STEP 2: Evaluating test results:

There are two factors which may seriuosly affect return channel connectivity:

"Loss %" - percentage of lost packets. This should not be more than 5%

"Worst" - maximum round trip time in milliseconds. This should not be more than 1000
